This Hot Babe Got Started On 'Shindig'

I KNEW I was right! Showing my age, but I used to watch this show back in the 60's, and drooled over the regular dancer with the boots and the huge glasses. I remember reading somewhere that it was Teri and that the glasses were fakes, just designed to draw attention to her. This was even before the Beach Party and Elvis dance bits! Oddly, though, IMDB doesn't mention it, but here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:

Many popular performers of the day played on the program, and this show is widely considered to have jumpstarted the career of future teen idol Bobby Sherman. In the fall of 1965, transmissions from London would commence, allowing performers from the British Invasion bands to play without having to leave the United Kingdom.

Teri Garr, one of the dancers on this program, later found success on film. The show's assistant choreographer, Antonia Basilotta, later changed her name to Toni Basil and enjoyed a long career as a choreographer and became the epitome of the one hit wonder with her iconic 1980s hit recording, "Mickey". Billy Preston was the keyboardist in the show's house band, The Shindogs.

Shindig!'s success prompted NBC to air the similar Hullabaloo. Shindig! was eventually cancelled, to be replaced in both time slots by Batman.

Nope...the dancer with glasses on "Shindig" was Carole Shelyne. Here she is on the back of a Honda:

Teri Garr can be spotted as one of the dancers in the terrific 60's rock concert documentary "The T.A.M.I Show."

I enjoy keeping busy. Satan finds work for idle hands.
