I remember when Teri Garr was on Letterman's show, I was hoping she would show up for the final show but I'm guessing that she is too ill.
She was always a favorite actress of mine, she made me laugh and she had a nice smile and friendly eyes.

Teri Garr announced a number of years ago that she was battling MS. http://www.rd.com/health/conditions/actress-terri-garr-battles-multiple-sclerosis/. She probably wasn't feeling up to doing the show.

I seem to recall many, many years ago there were rumors on the covers of various tabloids about her being a drunk (I only read the headlines of tabloids while I'm in line at a checkout counter) , how wrong they were, people are so cruel. "Hollywood" is a very cruel place. Its also extra hard on women, once you sows signs of aging, they're ready to throw you in the dumpster.

I never watched Letterman's CBS show, but I have fond memories from the 80's of Teri Garr's several appearances on Late Night. She and Letterman seemed to have such a natural rapport with each other and brought out the best in each other's comedy. Once I remember he was trying to find out in which film roles she had appeared nude and asked if Black Stallion was among them!
