RIP Brendan Fraser
He looks overweight in his new feature film. This cant be healthy. He will not live long. God bless him.

Beside the fact that he seems to be dropping the weight now, I’ve seen people a lot heavier than that who live a lot longer.
shareHe’s wearing a fat suit.
sharePrecisely.
As an aside, I do get a bit annoyed with all the people claiming the role should have gone to a genuinely obese actor (or even that Fraser should have bulked up for the part).
On one hand, I generally prefer authentic casting, and I certainly think mildly overweight characters should be played by mildly overweight actors, but *clinical obesity* is not something that should be encouraged. Without wishing to fat-shame anyone and compel them to lose weight, obesity is bad for the individual concerned, and we should do all we can to support them in losing weight, if that is what they want. Having said that, if genuinely obese actors exist, and they have struggled to lose weight, then I suppose they should be the first option when it comes to these types of roles (see for example the woman who played Gilbert Grape's mother in What's Eating Gilbert Grape?)
Totally agree with you.
shareIt's called acting. A serial killer character doesn't need to be played by a serial killer actor.
shareA bit different. Obese actors exist (and the only, admittedly considerable, harm they're doing, is to themselves).
Serial killer actors, assuming any exist, belong in prison.
All the great obese actors are dead...because they were obese. No actor should risk their health for a part. Jesus Christ...why do actors get shamed for acting?
shareDid you see the following post? It's only a couple of posts above.

I'm saying we shouldn't encourage actors to be obese. However, since obese actors *already* exist, it seems fair to give them the first option when it comes to playing an obese character.
The problem is those actors if they exist are probably not going to give as good of a performance as an experienced actor because they simply wont have had as much acting experience and the roles they have done wont generally consist of a lot of screen time.
So do you give them the first crack at every obese part, and then have to turn them down when a skinny actor gives a better audition? That seems kind of cruel and then they will go around saying you chose a skinny actor because of fat phobia and everybody is a bigot.
Well, just as there are good skinny actors, there are good fat actors. I don't think size has anything to do with acting prowess.
And actors get turned down for parts all the time. Better that they're given the chance to audition, rather than being refused a shot entirely.
However, since obese actors *already* exist, it seems fair to give them the first option when it comes to playing an obese character.
You fat idiot...it's not his real weight. Dumbass... 😂
shareThis movie looks abit like an afterthought.
shareOh for fuck's sake! If people dropped dead the moment their BMI topped 30, there wouldn't be any trolls on the Internet.
shareThen how do you explain me?
My BMI has consistently remained within the low end of 'Normal' throughout my entire life.
So you admit you're a troll?
shareLOL!
Yeah, that's the joke.
I don't know what's going on in the GD boards but supposedly two of your accounts got banned? It sucks that I work...I always miss all the drama.
shareWhat accounts would they be?
I have *one* account (and it took me a damn time to get this one back, I tell ya), but thankfully, there's no problems with it, and it will remain here, UNLESS I decide to delete it.
BF know first hand what it’s like to be fat! To loose one’s career. To be broke and out of style! The rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.
He is back for 15 min before lingering on “where are they now” websites!
Since I was not following Fraser or this movie I thought that was real as well and was glad to find out it was a fat suit. The last thing I saw him in was Condor, and he was looking obese, but not morbidly so.
I'm curious the other way. Did anyone ever see the movie "The Machinist" with Christian Bale. Bale went for months he said eating only an apple and a can of tuna every day until he was anorexic looking - and that was for real.
I don't know what would do more damage, eating a lot and then losing weight, or not eating and then trying to gain weight? Within limits I'd just guess that if you eat a lot you strain your body and your heart, and possibly clog your arteries, but studies seem to indicate you can lose that and get back to normal health, whereas if you lose so much weight can actually damage your organs as your body actually eats itself.
I have done the fasting! It’s hard work but doable. You can loose a lot of weight in just 40 days.
