Why does he rarely work, I wonder?

I thought Emilio would have a really busy movie career, yet after the '90s he all but dropped away.
Wasn't he a filmmaker too? I own his movie "The War at Home". I thought it was a bit too over-dramatic at times but quite good.
He, and his dad Martin, acted very well in it!

Why doesn't he make more films of his own?

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I think he just stopped being a popular hearthrob, and wanted to be taken more seriously as a filmmaker. "The War at Home" was definitely his strongest film, and I still think it's a very underrated work. Unfortunately its paltry distribution led it to being a financial flop.

Since then, he went on to direct episodes for several tv shows like "Numb3rs" and "The Guardian". He also directed "Rated X", "Cultural Clash in Americca", "Bobby" and "The Way". He's apparently just being way more relaxed about film making. He can afford to make wine at his home and spend time with family.

"The War at Home" is a really interesting home-front movie about how the Vietnam War's negative effects on one man can cause friction and heartbreak and confusion with his family. They just didn't get what he was going through and that is what made the film tragic. The movie, a kind of play, reminded me of fights between Tom Cruise and his mother in Born in the 4th of July.

In a perfect world I think Emilio only wants to direct movies, and the little acting he does is just to pay some bills. He can direct comedy and tragedy. He is really talented. I just wish one of his movies he directs would make a ton of money.

Still, I miss Emilio the actor.

Thank god he kept his Estevez name because the Sheen family is crazy, except for Emilio Estevez who thankfully doesn't carry the Sheen name.

Hollywood like Obama are sick *beep* people that pretend their religious at times, but are pro-abortion and no real Religious person supports the Murder of unborn Children, Fetuses, or Human life. Democrats are not good people, with their pro-abortion and pro-drugs. Life can be beautiful without Murdering your children or doing drugs.

Way off there Achilles. What does your out of whack political rant have to with Emelio Estevez. Hollywood isn't anti religion. They just don't believe in forcing religious ideals on other people. That would pretty much be like sharia law in Pakistan. Not the greatest way to run a country. People who are pro choice don't support murdering the unborn. They feel that people should have free will to choose, like how God of the Christian bible, gave humans free will to choose their own path.

I was wondering this too. I love Breakfast Club - obviously he was just a kid. But he was great in other things i've seen him in. He has a nice way on camera not like his brother who I think is not likeable and disgusting mostly.
I thought maybe he became a director or got behind the camera?

Wow, Achilles. Did you really just post that on this board within this topic? You have no idea what you are talking about, so until you educate yourself you should probably stop posting this ridiculous crap on imdb. Have a good day!
