Her Australian accent in Kings Speech

It's amazing!! I come from Australia and everyone in my theatre had no idea she was anything other than Australian.

"Oh why are Americans so hopeless with this stuff?"

Just a fun note. I'm an American who lived in Sydney for three years. The question I kept being asked was, "Are you Canadian?" Turns out that Aussies have a tough time distinguishing between Canadian and USA accents, a difference which is glaring to North American ears.

I think, as many have said here, it's a matter of what we're used to. When I first arrived in your great country, a new friend from New Zealand was sure that I'd know her homeland due to her accent. I couldn't tell the difference then, but the end of three years the two accents became quite distinguishable.

One last note: I saw "Dark Angels" on video when I was in Australia. Here in the USA, it was titled "A Cry in the Dark." Tough to find in a video store with my American brain.

Cheers!
