Brandon Lee was killed by a gun containing blanks - always treat a gun like its loaded.

I see a lot of posts pointing out the gun should have been checked for Baldwin. Doesn't really matter. This is the rule on and off movie sets.

Don't point the gun at another person on set, even if its supposed to contain blanks, and if a shot absolutely requires it they're supposed to use protection. Shielding for camera operators, for example. I tend to think Baldwin should have known better, considering the number of movies he's done.

Obviously they were cutting a lot of corners when it came to gun safety. Baldwin was a producer on the movie and had a say in that, possibly, so I'm not sure he's inncoent there either.

True and I think most people would find it extremely uncomfortable to point a gun at anyone even if they were 100% sure "checked themselves" that it was not loaded.

He should of had his lawyers tie up all the loose ends before he started yelling at the public and doing interviews.

I pointed it at a cop once when they were showing off their guns on a table with no magazine loaded in. He didn't like that. It happens when you're not gun literate.

reply

That is creepy, you must have lucked out that the cop wasn't a psycho.

reply

Obviously, real guns should never be allowed on movie sets.

reply

Yeah, I don't know why they do. With modern effects they can add recoil and all that after filming.

reply

It was more complicated than that. What ended up killing him was pretty much as if there was a live round in the chamber. Lodged dummy round that wasn't cleared replaced with a blank round with a powder charge and then essentially you got a real bullet more or less.

reply

Just to clarify, I believe it was a real bullet that had been pushed into the bore a small distance by the primer charge of a casing that was emptied of gunpowder - and should have had the primer removed too. Done because the camera shots needed to see 'complete' ammunition in the cylinder of the revolver rather than blanks.

Then later a blank casing (with a powder charge as you say) was fired without the knowledge that a bullet was lodged in the bore.

yes if you watch any action film closely you can see many times when someone firing black guns at someone they are aim above head or to side of person.

retard who kill brandon lee was told not to aim gun direct at brandon and shoot but told to aim to side and shoot. what did retard do? he aim direct at brandon and shoot.

sometimes you cannot help retardation. you given basic instruction and ignore and someone die. retard who kill him live on and we are denied great action star!! not fair.
