I just find it very odd and it makes me wonder. Are they buying a stairway to heaven by publicly taking the stairwell to hell ?

They have no reason to, but that IS how kids react to stuff like this, they assume that everything bad that happened in their lives is their fault. And as a father, he should know enough about children to know that.
I heard him on a recent radio interview, he seemed pretty decent and seems to adore his kids
Frankly, the guy came off like a sport and had some great insights into damaged people because of his upbringing (he had a tough time as a boy)
Unlike a lot of big stars he was honest about his difficult years and he wound up looking like quite an introspective Gent...and as a bonus he was funny and honest about his childhood pain
I very much respect him, most men can't admit all of that stuff
