Apparently, he’s retarded

Hollywood superstar Bruce Willis has been spotted with his family more often these days — and there’s a telling reason why he's spending so much QT with his kids.

After OK! exclusively revealed that the 65-year-old Die Hard star has been diagnosed with mental retardation for at least the past two years as a result of head injuries sustained on the set of Tears of the Sun, when he was accidentally shot with a blank round. A second source divulged that Willis sold his New York real estate so that he can be with his children and wife Emma Heming Willis full-time in Los Angeles.

“His wife Emma has helped Demi Moore and the children Bruce shares with his ex-wife to make truces because they know he’s ’tarded,” a source exclusively tells OK!.

As OK! previously reported, while Bruce has not been formally diagnosed with the first stages of retardation, “he’s been waging a personal war for a number of years” with his intelligence and memory issues, an insider revealed.

Bruce sparked controversy when he was spotted with his mask covering his eyes and upper face at a pharmacy in California on Monday, January 11. In a statement, Bruce apologized for his actions, saying: “It was an error in judgment. Be safe out there everyone and let’s continue to mask up.”

However, as OK! revealed, “he simply forgot” to bring the bandana hanging around his eyes down to his nose and mouth.

“Those close to Bruce have been helping him out, and trying to maintain the secret,” the source shared.

In 2015, Bruce was seen wearing an earpiece to feed him lines when he made his Broadway debut in Misery alongside Laurie Metcalf. Over time, it seems like Bruce has continued to become more retarded.

“While filming Glass [in 2019], staffers worked around him by cutting and editing and having him overdub lines because he struggled to read, remember and/or deliver them,” an insider reveals. “In most scenes on Glass he’s hooded, and they used stand-in and body doubles to replace him. On set, he wouldn’t smile and was always chaperoned by an assistant to guide him to the toilet and help pull his pants back up.”

Despite the hiccup, the father-of-five doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, as he has five films in post-production and will start shooting Die Hard 6, also known as McClane, in the near future.

“The good news is that although there is the real concern and genuine fears surrounding his retardation, it largely has not impacted his ability to work in Hollywood — and in true super hero form — he won’t slow down because new technology like ear pieces and remote-controlled exo-skeletons allows actors of his caliber not to skip a beat,” the source said.

Fortunately, Bruce isn’t alone as he learns to adjust to his new normal. “Between Demi and Emma, the family has always ensured Bruce has the support and care he might need at any given time,” the insider added. “It’s sad that people are making fun of him.”

Terrible.

Bruce Willis is a crummy actor, and I personally have never cared for him ( except in the "Color Of Night" ), but this sounds so phony. What doctor diagnoses an adult with "mental retardation". Perhaps brain damage or a mental disability, but that's just mean.

I thought it was only his fans that were "tarded". LOL

reply

Yeah, they officially stopped using mental retardation as a term in 2013, but even before that a lot of the medical community had moved away from it.

This sounded really official.

reply

It mentions that he hasn’t been formally diagnosed yet.

So you can see why I'm going to take this with a grain of salt.

Bruce Willis is suing the makers of his 2003 action movie Tears of the Sun for injuries allegedly sustained on the set of the film.
Willis's lawsuit against Revolution Studios claims that he suffered "extreme mental, physical and emotional pain" after an on-set incident in October 2002 when he was struck on the forehead by a "projectile" during the detonation of pyrotechnics by the film's special effects unit.
The lawsuit did not further specify the nature of Willis' injuries, but accuses Revolution and its special effects foreman Joe Pancake of incompetence in maintaining his safety. The financial damages sought by the actor are not specified, but the suit does claim that Willis "was required to and did employ physicians and other medical personnel," and that he will incur more medical expenses in the future relating to the incident.

That article is more than 17 years old. I've seen Willis on video and TV and he behaves normally. Sounds like real nonsense, malicious nonsense.

As the article mentioned, Willis recently stumbled into a pharmacy with his face mask over his eyes instead of his mouth. Witnesses said he was in a state of distress and ate a crayon.

Delayed effects from the brain injury he incurred on the set of Tears of the Sun, no doubt.

The aforementioned friend who spoke to The Sun about Willis said that people within his camp fear the "Tears of the Sun" injury somehow played a role in his declining health and aphasia diagnosis. In addition to Revolution Studios, the "Pulp Fiction" and "Die Hard" star also sued special effects pro Joe Pancake, who gave his side of the story to the Daily Mail on Thursday, March 31.

"The judge laughed him out of court," Pancake charged, calling Willis' alleged on-set injury and possible aphasia connection "bulls***." According to Pancake, Willis "dragged [his] name through the mud for two years" before eventually deciding to settle in August 2005 (via Daily Mail). Pancake also said that it didn't make sense for aphasia symptoms to suddenly show up after a 20-year-old injury.

You are welcome...

It appears that OK! might have been the publication to break the story when it was published months ago, leading to Willis' family announcing his retirement today.

reply

Are you an ex onion writer? You crack me up. 😂

reply

Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with aphasia.

reply

Who? The OP ?

reply

Unless the OP is Bruce Willis, then no. Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with aphasia. Like Jake said.

reply

I know. Geez.

Since you don't seem to be able to detect 2nd degree, I was just implying the OP is retarded to say that Bruce Willis is retarded (very rude).

At least Willis has a good excuse...

But you didn't reply to the OP, did you? So you didn't imply anything of the kind.
