He was a star in his 20s and 40s. 30s and 50s? Not so much

Travolta's career has been a roller coaster ride by the decade. In his 20s, he was the next young star-Vinnie Barbarino, Grease, Saturday Night Fever. Then in his 30s, he sank into relative obscurity. The movies he did were few and far between and were far from blockbusters. Then at 40, he did Pulp Fiction and immediately his career went on a meteoric rise. He was an A-List actor and leading man who got megamillions for each movie he did. Now in his 50s, his career has taken a huge step back again. Strange.

A great post! Starring in two films by Nora Ephron does that to ones career. Also Battlefield hurt him. He was boiling hot in the 90s and lost serious momentum with Be cool.
The last big budget film he did was The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, cut that in half and he did From Paris with Love his last big payout. Most of his films in the past 10 years has a rating below 6. He was paid $ 1,000,000 for the Forger & $ 20,000,000 for Ladder 49, that is one exponential drop in pay / popularity in 10 years.

He's current films are low budget with a production budget off $15 mill or less... he will not recover from this downfall and will linger in TV going forward.

I love him as an actor but the world moved on and the need for Cool Travolta faded away!

He will need to sell of his planes within two years!
