Most Hollywood celebs seem to be liberal, yet, Americans embrace Hollywood as part of their culture. Why worship a group of people you hate so much?

shareHollywood comprises of Liberals, Conservatives, Moderates, apolitcal types. It only seems that Hollywood is liberal because they are the ones who have the courage and conviction to speak out against anything that is unfair or unjust. The media loves liberals because they can print quotes for their articles or get grabs for the news. There are some conservatives who speak out too but it is rare because rightwingers are cautious and prefer to stay quiet on controversial matters, even if they do agree with liberals on certain points.
It's inaccurate to think Hollywood is liberal and only liberal. Hollywood itself is not political. Those who think so need a reality check. People working in Hollywood come from all walks of life, ages,genders,religions etc. It's really a beautiful cultural melting pot and the films that aren't big budget blockbusters but get Oscar-nominated, reflect that cultural diversity.

I agree with everything you wrote except for this. Conservatives can be just as vocal about their political interests as liberals. Hollywood *is* made up of people from all walks of life and of a variety of political beliefs, but liberals are the majority and, if conservatives don't speak out, it is because they don't want to risk retribution.

As I said, I agree with you on everything else you said, though. It is much too easy to label Hollywood as just a bunch of liberals. The same could be said for somewhere like Nashville where, I am certain, it is very intimidating to be an outspoken liberal. Just ask the gals from the Dixie Chicks!
