She didn't come off very well in the book by Edward Zwick. When slated to appear in Shakespeare in Love, insisted on Daniel Day Lewis as co-star, even though he had refused due to a commitment to make In the Line of Fire. Even set up meetings with the director when it was obvious the idea was a no-go. Then didn't do her homework in terms of learning the period accent and finally just up and quit the movie, upon which the funding disappeared also.

This happens to a lot of actors. They get so into the role and then feelings develop. I work in Theatre and it happens all the time. They keep leaving each other for their leading person.
