She hasn't had a bad career just...

her best years were her child to early 20's. Many wouldn't sniff at having a career she had. Sure she didn't keep up those heavy heights into her late 20's and onwards. But she's become a TV actress and that isn't as bad as it was years ago.

Mermaids (1990), The Hard Way (1991), The Addams Family (1991), Addams Family Values (1993), Casper (1995), Now and Then (1995), Bastard out of Carolina (1996), The Last of the High Kings (1996), The Ice Storm (1997), Buffalo 66(1998), The Opposite of Sex (1998), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), Pecker(1998), 200 Cigarettes (1999) (sue me I love that film), Sleepy Hollow (1999), The Man Who Cried (2000), Prozac Nation (2001), Anything Else (2003), Monster (2003), Penelope (2006), Black Snake Moon (2006).

For me, from 1990 to 1999 she was on one of the best runs for any young actress once she hits the 00's, it got patchy and some of her choices just weren't hitting the mark like they should and after 2006 I can't find anything of worth to mention in her film career. It's not like she couldn't break out of the teenage role, she did quite easily with the likes of Buffalo 66 and especially The Opposite of Sex (her best performance). I just think it's a case of probably losing her touch of finding great work and just been passed over for the next young actresses around.

But for all of the 90's she was on such a great run.

Ricci first came to my attention the way that I'm sure she came to the attention of many young men of my generation and that was as Wednesday Addams. She was damn good in those films and was a bit of a scene stealer. She then fell off my radar though until 1999 when she made the excellent Sleepy Hollow. I found her character to be very charming and alluring, and I'm not sure she's ever looked more beautiful than she did in that movie. Since then I've made a point to keep up with her on-and-off.

As a performer, I think she's great. And I've always thought she had something unique about her physically that really caught my attention. She has not, however, made a lot of films that I was in love with. I also don't like the fact that she got in the habit of regularly taking her clothes off for the camera, as I frankly have fairly traditional ideas about sexuality. But I guess that just is what it is.

I will disagree with your contention that she has not made anything worth mentioning since 2006 though. Speed Racer, while an imperfect movie, is so damn visionary that I can't help but admire it. The Pan Am TV series was also very ambitious and worth watching, I think, and I enjoyed the TV movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax.

She's not a superstar, but she's certainly had a solid, successful career as a working actress with a recognizable name. We'll see how things go for in the coming years.

I agree in the mid to late 90's I had a huge crush on her and my favorite role of hers would be Buffalo 66, sleepy hollow was good as well. the 90's was her time. Once the 00's hit for me she started losing too mcu hwight and it took away from her appeal for me...Ps I also love 200 Cigarettes.
