First time you heard Madonna.
Riding around in my car with my girlfriend back in 1984 and Borderline came on the radio. I've been a fan ever since!

shareI'm sure I saw her in magazines and newspapers before I actually heard her sing, Holiday was hit but I don't remember it much, her appearance on Top of the Pops singing Like a Virgin whilst wearing a shocking pink wig I remember watching!
I remember Like a Virgin was considered shocking. Some radio stations wouldn't play it.
shareI think it was watching the video for Burning Up on the now defunct Aussie music TV show Countdown.
It was obvious she had star quality. Like you I was hooked from the get go.
Very similar to you - 1984, Borderline (I was living in Florida then), boom!
shareI think it was "Starlight" I first heard, but the song and video were kinda Bleh...then the song and video for "Borderline" hit the radio and MTV and it exploded. Part of the appeal too was its Urban Pop visualizations with break dancing and showing a more integrated and racially diverse cast in the video. Most music was either just the top 40 bands who were either all-white or all-black (Rock, Reggae, R&B, Country, etc.) so it was interesting to see a blonde Madonna dry humping a Latin male love interest.
shareA COUPLE WEEKS AGO...THE BALLED UP SOCK FELL OUT OF HER MOUTH FROM THE BOUNCING...I QUICKLY PUT IT BACK AS SHE SOUNDED INSANE.๐
shareBorderline was the first song I remember as a little kid lol.
shareMy father bought the True Blue cassette while visiting the USA in 1987. I fell in love with that album immediately
shareI remember seeing her in a white dress in "like a virgin"
