shareRight, but Lynch is especially good at it and most people don’t have the ability to render the subconscious the way he does. Neither to access it nor present it on screen in such a concentrated way. He says he doesn’t do drugs but if turned out he’s a secret LSD user, or equivalent hallucinogenic, I wouldn’t be surprised.
