Hardest working guy in Hollywood

I always find it interesting to look at someone like Samuel L. Jackson's career and try to figure out where the turning point was, when did he become ' the go to guy' for such and such a part. If you look at his iMDB page you see he sort of sputtered in his early career, getting only 6 credits in 15 years up until the late 80's. He may have been trying to work in Hollywood at that time, but Hollywood didn't seem to want him. All that changed in 1987 when he was tapped, to work in for lack of a better word - black centric - films. 'School Daze' 'Coming to America' 'Do the Right Thing'. After that, after he had been given a real chance to make it in Hollywood, his career took off and he never looked back. Yes he did more 'black movies' - 'Mo Better Blues' 'Jungle Fever', but he was also tapped for bigger, more mainstream flicks like 'Patriot Games' and 'Loaded Weapon'. After that he struck gold the next few years with 'Jurassic Park' and 'Pulp Fiction'. He still seemed to take every script that was thrown his way, but at least some of these movies were being directed by talented people like Spielberg and Tarantino. I'm not sure if he's now trying to make up for lost time (he has more than 5 credits, on average, every year for the 30 years between 1987 and 2016) or if he just wants to make as much money before he retires. In any case I enjoy the parts he plays in every movie, even if some people say that they're all the same part. Keep it up Sam, I'm sure you can do this for another 15 years if you want.

I just saw an awful movie with him, "Standoff". Terrible, awful really bad; oh, wait, that was Lawrence Fishburne. ??
