What happened to Helen Hunt's face?

Age.

And terrible decisions as far as plastic surgery and Botox injections.

Like many people in North America, I have grown up watching Helen Hunt on television, and later in films. While she was never a “smoking hot mama”, she could do “cute” when she was tee,n and then attractive when she became an adult. Her primary talents were never supposed to be her looks; Hunt’s acting was (and is) her main draw.

Unfortunately as she aged, there seemed to have been fewer roles for Hunt.

While she was always good at drama (especially on television) and she could pull off light comedy roles, especially as “the straight man”, she was never on par with her peers like Jodie Foster. While she was awarded the Oscar for As Good As It Gets, when you watch the film now, nearly 30 years later, it’s clear that two of her other competitors clearly SHOULD have won. Hunt’s acting has always been good; it’s just never been exceptional or note-worthy.

The reason that I went in that direction is that despite five decades in the business, no one seems to be interested in employing Hunt on her own as the lead of television series or film projects. It’s happened on a few occasions in films; however Hunt is not a box office draw, and that doesn’t seem to sit well with her. I say that because rather than taking her accolades and her wealth from DECADES of acting work and working behind the camera, Hunt underwent multiple surgical procedures in a vain effort to disguise the fact that she’s entering her 60s and that her appearance is demonstrating that.

That had to be excruciatingly painful, as well as severely disappointing, as the “idea” behind plastic surgery (if not to repair damage) is to not give the appearance that you HAD surgery.
