Lenny Nero in Strange Days

Anyone else love him in that? His character Lenny in Katharine Bigelow's Strange Days is one of his performances I feel is underrated (because the film didn't do much box office wise no doubt) Obviously he's done his fair share of standout roles, Schindler's List and The English Patient etc, which everyone knows. But if you're at all a fan of his it is worth a mention. He pulls off a sort of lovable sleazebag really well, and is almost channeling James Woods at times, particularly with the American accent. Angela Basset was also at the top of her game and they had great chemistry.

I haven't seen it but I've heard a lot about this so I'm gonna see it as soon as I can

It's not a great movie, but he is great in it.

I honestly think it's one of his worst performances. His American accent sounds dodgy to say the least, and the movie itself is jerky and awkwardly-paced. I don't blame Ralph as much as Kathryn Bigelow, since nearly all of the principal cast gave less than stellar performances (with the exception of Angela Bassett; she was great).

I know this is a very late reply lol, but the pacing awkward? How so? I actually find the pacing in Strange Days works perfectly for the countdown down to the millenium and the chaotic world in which it's set. It's supposed to be a little unsettling and it created a feeling of paranoia throughout.

Easily my favourite Ralph Fiennes character. I love that movie, and Ralph was very good.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾
