Villain or Romantic Hero?
Which roles do you like him to play more ?
I think he showcases his talent more as bad guy but I find completely irresistible as a good guy or Romantic hero.

A mixture of both! Bad guy romantic anti-hero in the English Patient! Yes! He had really good chemistry with Kristin Scott-Thomas but was too classy for J-Lo in Maid in Manhattan.
shareGreat answer but my first thoughts of him as a romantic Anti Hero was Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights though the English Patient is great example.
shareYes he was very good in Wuthering Heights but they miscast the leading lady. Juliette Binoche playing an English lady! Really. I just didn't buy it.

Hehe, I think she was fine and she had great chemistry with Ralph
Actually I find it funny she wasn't believable as a lady because the main complain with her is that she was too lady like to portray Cathy, the book described Cathy as a wild spirit and never acted like a lady till she went to live with the Linton's for a while during her recovery after the dogs accident.
It's not the lady part I have a problem with but the fact that they cast a French actress to play a Yorkshire lass. Her accent was all over the place! Grrr! There are so many English actresses, why cast a French one?
E2A: I think that Juliette in a good actress but just wrong for the part of Cathy.
BTW: I hear that they are going to cast another French actress, Marion Cotillard as Lady MacBeth in a new version of the Bard's work. She'll be playing opposite Michael Fassbender. Just so wrong!
Now Ralph as MacBeth would be perfect together with a strong actress (not French though!)
Oh ok I can see your point.
I agree she didn't have the right accent for this part and at times was a little distracting but I didn't mind so much since I liked to see paired up with Ralph Fiennes and she had some very good moments but I can see what's your problem since I had that problem with Natalie Portman in the Other Boleyn girl.
At the end the British accent is harder than it seems, very few actresses have got it well.
Marion Cotillard as Lady McBeth yes it's a little strange as well but she entered replacing Natalie Portman who was the first choice but later changed her mind.
And I agree with Ralph Fiennes as McBeth he would be incredible since he is really Into Shakespeare, he won a Tony portraying Hamlet so I'm sure McBeth wouldn't be a problem for him.
Yes, Ralph is a brilliant Shakespearean actor. I've seen him on stage a few times. The first time was as Romeo many years ago at the Open Air Theatre in the mid 80s. Later in Love's Labour Lost at Stratford Upon Avon and also more recently in Julius Caesar in Paris and then the Tempest in London. I've also seen him in a couple of other non-Shakesepeare plays (God of Carnage and Oedipus)and I think that he has great stage presence!
shareWow you are so lucky of seeing him so many times live.
For me this impossible since I live In Mexico City and the trip to New York is a little expensive and then buying the ticket for the theater forget it.
anyway I can perfectly imagine how great he is live since his amazing performances on screen are very intense, it's like there is no screen.
