Should of been Javert in Les Miserables?

For the record, I was absolutely disappointed with Crowe's performance and was wondering who else could have done the role justice. I think Fiennes would have been great since he can absolutely do obsessive and intimidating at the same time. Opinions?

he would have been fantastic iwth the acting part
this role its kind of similar to the part he played in Schindler´s list.
the only thing im not sure he can do is singing, but if he is a good singer then all my support is for him

maybe the next les Miserables adaptations non musical adaptation should be this
be this way

Liam Neeson Valjean
Raplh Fiennes Javert
Catherine Zeta Jones Fantine
Clare Danes Cossette who auditioned for Schindler´s list got the part she wanted(i supousse it was helen) but latter had to turn it down
Marious the guy who played the main role in War Horse

of course the director would be Steven Spielberg

He sang in Prince of Egypt and was very good. The Plagues song between Moses and Rameses is very similar to the Confrontation in Les Miz. Imagine Wolverine vs Voldemort, think of the possibilities!

Wowww it's being a very long time since I saw the prince of Egypt so don't remember very well the singing.

But i agree it would have been great to watch Wolverine and Voldemort fighting.
Maybe another time, but it would have been also great to see a fight between Voldemort and Brian Mills if Liam Neeson Played Valjean and Ralph Javert.

Liam Neeson did play Valjean in a non-musical LES MISERABLES. Uma Thurman was Fantine. They were both excellent, but as usual, the script could not convey the multiple dimensions of the novel.

Geoff Rush played Javert in that film, and unfortunately he was much too melodramatic (the script was probably partly responsible for this too).

I agree that Fiennes would make an excellent Javert. The only good one I've seen so far is Charles Laughton back in the 1930s. I'm not a fan of the musical so I won't speculate whether he could lift it above the level of dreck.

I saw Liam's version and I agree he was great actually I think the whole cast was great and I liked the movie

It's just that I'd love to see Liam doing this part again but this time with Ralph as Javert

I had the exact same thought while watching The Prince of Egypt. His singing voice is pretty much perfect for the character. Have him grow out his hair and get sideburns and he'd pretty much look the part too.

I would have died happy.

Voldemort is my love monkey!

omg I could never see LesMis in the same light again.. There'd always be the regret that Ralph is not playing Javert in it. He would have been perfect for the part! His singing voice in the Price of Egypt was just amazing.
