Does he always have to do Oscar-bait?
Why not sprinkle in a horror or romance flick in there? It’s always some drama where he has to yell and/or be stressed out

shareWhy would he choose and commit himself to projects that he has no interest in? Just to appease you? That's stupid. Nobody's begging for a 50-something-year-old Leo romance. He does what he likes to do, simple as that. Who cares.
Also, Shutter Island dabbles in horror too.
It's called range. Doing the same kind of roles again and again gets stale
shareI'd say he's doing just fine for himself and doesn't need to show any more range🤣
But thanks for your expert opinion
He already did the heartthrob. Diamond shows he can do some action-y stuff. Catch Me shows he can be charming. And many scenes in Wolf shows he can pull off comedy. He doesn't need to prove himself to you
shareHave to agree here. Dude got range. But I also see where OP is coming from, the tends to type-cast himself, basically.
shareYeah, but if that's his prerogative, who is anyone else to say otherwise? It's completely and utterly up to him.
That's like telling a singer of a band "Hey this other singer does guitar and this other singer can also play drums."
So the fuck what.
Yes. It's a slippery slope from being an Oscar actor to being a washed up schlub making goofy grandpa movies. You have to be very careful what movies you make. Once the audience stops taking you seriously, you're done.
