In his career, American actor Leonardo DiCaprio has won numerous awards and nominations for his exceptional acting skills. He has been named the best actor in various prestigious award ceremonies throughout the years. With 54 awards won and 165 nominations, DiCaprio has proven himself to be one of the finest actors of his generation.

He has been nominated for the best actor award six times in the Academy Awards, four times in the British Academy Film Awards, and nine times in the Screen Actors Guild Awards. He has won one of each award from these ceremonies, and also received three Golden Globe Awards from a total of eleven nominations.

DiCaprio started his career with television shows, where he was nominated for the best actor award at the Young Artist Awards for his roles in Santa Barbara (1990), Parenthood (1990), and Growing Pains (1991). His first film, Critters 3 (1991), was a direct-to-video release. He earned nominations for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for "Best Supporting Actor" for his portrayal of a mentally challenged boy in the drama What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993).

DiCaprio's performance in Romeo + Juliet earned him the best actor award at the Berlin International Film Festival. He played the lead role in Titanic (1997), the highest-grossing film at that time, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for best actor and the MTV Movie Award for "Best Male Performance". The Beach earned him a nomination at the 2000 Teen Choice Awards for "Film – Choice Actor", but also earned him a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for "Worst Actor".
