Why are Leonardo DiCaprio's films so long?

On average, most of his movies are each around 3 hours long, and most of them could easily cut at least 30 minutes out and still get to the point.

How dare you! No one and I mean NO ONE better cut any of my Leonardo DiCaprio viewing time short! 😍

He tends to seek out prestige projects, many of which are longer than the average mainstream movie. Not all of them succeed imo, but I do salute him for taking on risky projects that most A-listers these days would avoid. That he manages to balance this with being a major box office draw is quite remarkable.

Why do we have to have DiCaprio in anything? Boring as copy paper.
