Can he be cast in something rather lighthearted? Don't have to be a rom-com. But maybe where he doesn't have to be such conflicted man with deep psychological burden... something like Titanic?
Ever since, I don't know, Gangs of New York maybe, he seemed only play seriously intense characters, and that was early 2000!
At least he hasn't gone down that endless road first taken by Nicki Cage of aging, competent and diverse actors shaving off their sideburns and only getting roles in really horrible straight-to-vid action movies.
shareCage was a great action movie star. He has charisma and was a box office magnet (and still is, to this day). Had he been more careful with his money I think he wouldn't have to go down that road. Even Steven Seagal isn't that miserable.
DiCaprio on the other hand recently got his much deserved Oscar and he has enough money unlike Cage. He can do some fun roles for a change while still getting into the serious demanding ones.
Jack Nicholson did that. Robert deNiro also did. Not to mention Johnny Depp, Gary Oldman, Ralph Fiennes, Patrick Stewart, etc. I would like to watch DiCaprio in any movie, superhero, comedy, sci-fi, chick flick, anything.
