I really like the guy. I have seen all of his American work, but am still missing a few of his early Aussie movies. IMO, he has been in a lot of great films, but also in quite a number of stinkers. These are my personal "Top 5" and "Bottom 5".

TOP 5:
1. L.A. Confidential
2. Gladiator
3. The Insider
4. American Gangster
5. Romper Stomper

BOTTOM 5:
1. Noah
2. Virtuosity
3. Breaking Up
4. The Man with the Iron Fists
5. Broken City

I think State of Play is one of his best.

I saw The Nice Guys today...it was kind of silly, but I was still entertained. ;-)

Noah is one of his best, what the hell?!  Not in my Top 5 but certainly in my Top 10 Crowe films.
