Overrated.
Sure he's a decent singer, but he never wrote a song in his life and the music itself was above average. If he was ugly I don't think he would have been as popular as he was.
shareIt wasn't common for singers in the 1950s and before to write their own songs. They were interpreters. I don't think Frank Sinatra ever wrote any of his songs.
