Baseball legend and second hubby Joe DiMaggio complained the blond bombshell stunk to high heavens because she would avoid bathing for days on end.

The tragic film icon was such a slob, even her maids would quit.

Former housekeeper Lena Pepitone recalls how the sex symbol, who popped pills for her deep depressions, would lie around in the same dirty clothes for days, and wolf down meals in bed, where the dirty dishes would pile up.

Movie hunk Clark Gable was revolted by the way she would lie in bed naked, gobble food and scrape the messy leftovers under her sheets for the maids to clean in the morning!

Don't believe a word. She was desperate to hang on to her youth and beauty, no way would she let her standards slip, simple hatchet job, they should leave the poor lady alone.

she was depressed and died of a drug overdose. of course she probably had bad hygiene. she still was one of the hottest girls ever and is a legend let her rest in peace. i would rather have a hot girl with bad mental health issues than a fatty mcbumbalattie who showers everyday. Marilyn is queen!

It's possible, Monroe was a troubled soul who had a deeply conflicted feelings about her own beauty, and who spent her adult life under tremendous stress. So I can believe that her maid was correct, that there were times when it all got to be too much and she'd lie around eating in bed and not grooming, to make up for spending too much time taking hours obsessing over ever detail of her appearance.
