Enter The Dragon

Greatest film ever from Bruce Lee

reply

To see the real movie, you need to see the Extended Edition, introduced by Linda Lee, Bruce’s widow. It contains more of his philosophy. Real warriors are philosophers and artists, like Mushashi Myamoto, the greatest Samurai in history, who also wrote A Book of Five Rings and was one of the finest calligraphers and painters in Japanese history. If you love this movie, see the Extended Edition.

Think about it this way: if there had been no Bruce Lee, how many movies would we not have today? The Matrix series? The John Wick series? The Transporter series? The Taken series? The Bourne series? The Mission Impossible series? The Craig Bond series? And I’m just rattling off entire series of US films off the top of my head. The Great Wall? Hanna? Hansel and Gretal: Witch Hunters? Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? House of Flying Daggers? Hero?

Bruce Lee was a singularlity, and he, with Linda, produced a son who would have been a megastar had he lived.

Bruce Lee popularized martial arts movies. Everyone wanted to be like him when I was a kid. "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" is an entertaining movie to watch about his life. Great martial art scenes, romance and comedy.

I read that Lee's blows and kicks were so fast that they didn't show in film. Lee refused to slow down at all so the directors used a slower film speed during his marital art scenes.

Brandon Lee had his father's charisma. He made a few really bad movies, but every scene with him shined because of his charisma and improvisation. His best films are "The Crow" and "Rapid Fire".

You want to see how fast Bruce Lee was? Watch The Big Boss (US title). There is a scene where Lee’s character is about to enter a garden park in Hong Kong, that has a sign posted at its entrance, “No Dogs or Chinese Allowed.” Lee kicks this sign skyward, leaps into the air, and kicks the sign in half in mid-air. The key to breaking a board in your karate class is having someone holding the board firmly, making it rigid and fragile. Breaking a flowing board midair, held by the wind? You have to be a Master.

I wonder if Arnold or Stallone would have been that big if Bruce Lee hadn't died. Maybe all the action stars from the 70s and 80s would have been regarded as imitators.

I think there’s room for both the Bruce Lee and Ahnahld/Sly archetypes. For 1 thing: 2 very different body types. Bruce weighed like 140, 150 pounds—but he could take a 75-pound barbell and hold it in front of him with his arms fully extended for 30 seconds. Few people know he created his own exercise machines and exercises. The “Rocky sit-ups” that Sly did was an exercise Lee created that he called “the flag.” Bruce Lee was cut, ripped and shredded like maybe 3 other guys in history; but he was small. Force equals mass times speed. Effectiveness equals force plus ACCURACY.

Enkidu, the WILD MAN, in the oldest recorded story in history, the Mesopotamian tale, Gilgamesh, is THE male archetype. He was so virile and wild he had to know hundreds of women before it was safe to let him enter Gilgamesh’s royal city. Guys who are built like Sly and Arnold more quickly resonate as MAN with simpler audiences, and that’s okay. I love all 3 of these guys. I respect all 3 of them tremendously for what they achieved with the tools they had. A world-class bodybuilder, an actor who WROTE himself into stardom and the Cha-Cha champion of Hong Kong (Lee, true story)?! They made themselves STARS. I think they should inspire a lot of us.

if there was no bruce lee movies would still be made and there would be another people just like they are now.look who came after him jackie chan & jet li.

and guys like arnold and stallone didnt do any kung fu or crap like that..so this is bullcrap.they didnt need to jackass like lee to tell them what to do or took inspiration they went and whooped ass.

bruce lee was a fraud and joke, embarrassment.if anyone calls those C grade movie guy a legend is out of its mind and no that's not cinema its pretty far from it.bruce lee sucks and will suck, martial arts is a thousand year old tradition that didnt need no chump buffon like bruce lee to make it famous it was already famous.somebody needs a history lesson and need to stop sucking bruce lee's dong and stop masterbating to him.both he and his son are dead and its good.

lee was in diapers when real men were banging chicks, bruce lee was dog feces so is his legacy f him and his fanboys big time, they can run their mouth all they want ,truth is the wacko they worship is dead for good he ain't coming back.and its a good thing.

all those movie n series mentioned above that some douche said that we woudn't have is bunch of bs we would still have em like we are having em now.so suck it,we will still have movies always, movies don't need some jackass joke of clown like bruce lee.when he wasn't born movies were made, was around they were made and now hes gone still are being made and will get made forever,so to hell to the bruce lee and his gay fans giving wrong credit to bruce lee for everything .

I know this may not be a popular opinion, but while Enter the Dragon may be Lee's best film, it was not a good film. The script and the acting are fair at best. I did like the fight scenes for the most part though.

While there are more than a few fighters who have made films, most of them are not good actors. Bruce Lee was one of them. Others would include, Audie Murphy, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lungren, Cynthia Rothrock, Tony Jaa and Michael Dudikoff.
