To Catch a Thief, one of the most enjoyable films ever made?

Surely it's very enjoyable and obviously fantastically executed. A movie made as this, if released today, would be called the best picture of the year. It's probably the subject matter and its tone which undermine its values. But movies such as "To Catch a Thief" prove that Hitchcock has been the only one who fully understood the capacities of the medium, looked for another places to explore and every single time in his prime did it with full conviction and unmatchable precision.

I love it. Great characters, story, gorgeous scenery etc. Don't know how many times i've seen it, but it's a lot.

It richly deserved the Academy Award it won . . .

I watched it again, and the double entendres, suggestions, and wit of the dialogue still are endlessly engaging. There is a magic in To Catch a Thief, sadly there is no chance a movie like this could be made today.

Probably his lightest movie.

It's a great film. Whenever I watch it, I'm always left with a strong desire to visit the beach.

The innuendo filled lines still raise eyebrows. Grace is at her most beautiful, and Cary at his most suave and handsome. Edith Head's costumes are gorgeous.
