One of the greatest actors of all time
Chuck was the man.
Reading his journals from 1956-1976 is something else.
Naw. A big star in his time with several great films and aspirations to be know as a great actor - hence his A Man For All Seasons. He was probably a better actor than his films prove (which I think is the case for most big stars) but not a great one (which assumes we, the viewing public, can define what makes a great actor - personally I wouldn't know how to do it).
shareHe wasn't a acting showcase type of actor, although he won the Oscar for best leading actor. He had an incredible presence on screen. A certain power, passion and gentleness he brought to his roles that made him unique in many ways.
