Is that gun still in his hands?
Just joking, guy was a legend. Can't believe I'm the first to post on his boards!

shareThe only Beh-Hur I'll ever need.
shareInteresting question.
shareHe’s shooting angels in heaven now, God rest his soul.
shareI don't mind him as an actor but his NRA stance makes it difficult for me to actually like the guy. He seemed to play the strong, silent type most often, which I guess could be said for Greg Peck as well. Peck looked a little more thoughtful (Mockingbird) and warm (On The Beach), but Chuck in Touch Of Evil was very good. I suspect it was a role a lot of people could have done as it was a fantastic film, but Heston had the lead so I won't try to take it away from him.
And yes, there are a lot of great actors from the Golden Age that don't get their due here. I suppose that's how the world works. Chris Pratt is more interesting than James Stewart (!?!) simple because he's active now.
Heston certainly chewed the scenery in "The Ten Commandments."
shareYou don't believe in the Constitution?
shareYep, he was a great man.
shareThe guy was a major asshole.
I'm sure he's rotting in hell now, with a rifle fired up his ass.
Takes one to know one.
shareYou're a real nasty piece of work.......or something.
share"The guy was a major asshole."
That's odd. He spoke highly of you. Well, he would have if he knew who you were. Ah ha ha ha.
I liked him as an actor. There was the NRA business though.
Still, I think "asshole" is harsh.
His kind aren't part of Hollywood anymore.
He was one of the greatest.
