I agree, it's Ingrid Bergman. I love Hepburn as well, but I just love watching Bergman's performances.

As far as legendary actress, I'd have to say Hepburn, becasue she was a great actress along with a very distinctive personality...but Bergman was GREAT too...really naturalistic (not saying Hepburn wasn't!)...Oh I don't know. Way to hard of a decision!!!! :)

shareI can't think of Kate Hepburn without thinking, "What a woman," but Ingrid Bergman takes the cake. It's impossible to think of anyone else playing Ilsa in Casablanca without evoking the same emotions, or believing that Rick would be so torn up about her leaving. And for beauty, many of the shots in Casablanca are very simple and the costumes aren't extravagant Edith Head gowns, but there are few models or actresses who can take your breath away like Bergman did in her entrance in Casablanca, which is so simple, so anti-climatic, but every time it makes me gasp.

No one - and I mean no one can compare with Ingrid Bergman. Katharine Hepburn was a good actress, no question about it, but her voice sounds awful. She needed more voice training or something to clear that voice of hers which I could never stand. Then she died in her 90's and has been around longer than Ingrid who died at 67. Hepburn had 4 Oscars, Ingrid 3. If Ingrid lived in her 90s, she would have had
5 or 6 Oscars. Ingrid Bergman was the greatest actress who ever lived !!!
