Stop with the personal attacks
Some commentators seem to think it's okay to personally attack you if your opinion defers from theirs. Stop already. You can have a discussion without name calling and personal attacks.

shareI agree with this 100%. I can disagree with a friend, have opposite opinions on everything, and still be friends.
In rhetoric an ad hominem attack is a sign of a weak debater.
But you have to admit it is fun to see someone get flustered when you call them a fartmuffin.

shareI actually did legitimately LOL at this sentence. Had someone three days ago bet me our paychecks that I would see this sentence in the next 72 hours, I would have taken the bet thinking the chances completely implausible

shareI just checked it. I don't know why it's bothering you because they're clearly trying to get you upset. They have less than 200 posts and I'm sure if you check their posting history, you'll find more.
shareI get them all the time on the politics board in lieu of argument. It always tells more about those making the insults than those they hope will be offended. The latest excuses I got were that an insult can not be rude if it is true or, it was not a insult but just a 'description'.

Most people here outside of politics tend to be civil, at least compared to other sites I've checked out.
could be dbdbddbbd , he tends to be outright hostile occasionally for no apparent reason
Not talking about R_Kane but I have been spoken down to from him mostly about grammar or spelling errors.
shareIf someone in the various film boards makes a really bone-headed post, I'll go after them, depending upon how clueless/racist/dismissive they are. But I wouldn't say truly nasty, just challenging the basis of their opinion, their judgement, their reasoning process, etc.

Can you? sounds to me like you are interpreting any kind of difference of opinion to yours as a personal attack.
