Hey football fans

How do you feel about the NFL making you buy Netflix in order to enjoy some xmas day football?

reply

I'm not paying for Netflix OR Amazon Prime (Thursday night NFL games.) I don't watch a lot of them anymore anyway. You can track the games live on ESPN's Gamecast, or go to a sports bar/restaurant to watch it live.

Dave & Busters (video game parlor and overpriced restaurant/bar) is open on Christmas from 4:00 PM to midnight. The video games are HALF PRICE on Wednesdays! And second NFL game will be on their many sports TVs.

The NFL Network. which I have on my Xfinity/Comcast cable TV package, will air both Christmas games as reruns starting at 8:30 PM and 11:30 PM. The NFL Network repeatedly airs the Thursday night Prime games after their own post-game show.

Live on Netflix Christmas Day:
1:00 PM Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers.
4:30 PM Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans.

Thursday Dec 26 at 8:15 PM on Prime:
Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears

Saturday Dec 28, 2024 on the NFL Network:
1:00 PM Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots
4:30 PM Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals
8:15 PM Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

So there is no football on any of the broadcast channels on xmas--is that correct? I'm surprised the NFL is going that route--there's going to be a lot of fan resentment, I predict.

reply

Christmas is traditionally the showcase for NBA professional basketball. They have a full slate scheduled on ABC/ESPN. The NBA likely resents the NFL cutting into their territory.

We don't need NFL games on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week. SHEESH!!!

reply

So, people can still watch the NBA on ABC if they want to. If most people prefer to watch the NFL why do you have a problem with that? In fact by having their xmas games on premium cable the NFL is not "cutting into their territory" at all! There are no NFL games being broadcast, and the NBA should be grateful for that.

reply

I have nearly all the streaming services but I’ll be playing Christmas movies, music, sipping wine, seeing family and stoking the fireplace tomorrow…forget football.

reply

IIRC there never was NFL football on Christmas unless Christmas was a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
