Would you bring the dinosaurs back?

Always had a strange fascination with these beasts from the past. I reckon the planet doesn't have the same conditions probably for them to thrive but man wouldn't it be awesome to at least know that such thing is a possibility?

reply

I think messing with the natural order has consequences we probably couldn't even anticipate, but if somehow we learned it would be safe for both the dinosaurs and us, it would be neat to see the herbivores. The carnivores can stay extinct.

reply

Agree with this!

reply

If you view the natural order toinclude humans who are intelligent and resourceful enough to accomplish something like this,asIdo, there isno conflict.

reply

Excellent point. It's all part of the evolution of life. It's no different than being an ape who can use tools.

My deep knowledge on this topic was obtained from years of watching Sid and Marty Krofft's Land of the Lost and Jurassic Park. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Still, if such a park ever opens I'll sit back and watch and wait for a bit before investing in any weekend passes. ๐Ÿ˜

No.

Isn't the guy to the right the grandfather from Troll 2?

reply

You ARE right, that he does look a lot like grandpa Seth, but no.

That is Luciano Pigozzi, and he has been in close to 100 films in supporting roles. He is one of those guys who youโ€™ll always see turning up everywhere in those movies, and is known as the Ialian Peter Lorre. I wish he HAD played Grandpa Seth, though. lol

reply

From the Wikipedia picture it actually doesn't look like him at all.

reply

No

reply

No. Too dangerous, and it would mess up any ecosystem you put them in.

reply

I don't think we have enough resources to sustain them, plus they would likely be exploited and/or killed if they didn't kill us first, so I'm against it sadly.

reply

Yeah...what would they eat?

reply

I mean, the carnivores would probably eat all the livestock in existence and put a lot of farm animals in the danger zone of extinction, and the herbivores would eat up all the edible vegetation and plant produce.

reply

No.

There's a short science fiction story from decades ago, I can't remember the name or author but the gist is that dinosaurs are brought back and there was a group of them that were super intelligent and they took over the planet again.

reply

I would bring the whole dinosaur! His back. His legs. His head. Everything.

reply

Actually if we brought back everything but their fingernails and teeth we might be in business.
