I'm Going To See Billy Joel & STING Tonight At Busch Stadium

And the forecast calls for high winds and rain, however, I went to the store and purchased some rain gear, i.e Rain Ponchos etc and the temperature will be 64 degrees, so sweatshirt weather and rain gear. I'm looking forward to this because I paid back in January, $625.00 a piece and got 2 tickets and I'm taking my sister who showed more interest in this then my friend Carol, but that's all good too!! I'm sitting behind 3rd Base which is very close to the stage it sounds like? Hopefully, it doesn't get rescheduled til next year because of the rain, these guys aren't getting any younger and time is not on their side.. πŸ˜ŽπŸ™

Hope you have a super time and that the weather holds up.

I saw Billy Joel a few years ago and he was excellent.

I haven’t seen Sting solo, but I saw The Police who were very good.

I saw Billy Joel a few years ago and he was excellent.

Are you sure he didn't crash into the event?

reply

Well it is Friday night, so….

reply

There was a hilarious Saturday Night Live skit where Lindsay Lohan hosted and they spoofed Joel's car accident. I can't find a link, and I don't remember who played Billy Joel, he's driving a bunch of teenage girls somewhere and they have no idea who he is...

reply

I'm sure the skit ended with a bang.

According to Dave Murray with FOX Local Weather, there is going to be rain and high winds, but the show will go on, so that's why I prepared for this by purchasing rain gear at the Sporting Good store by me, DICK SPORTS. 2 Rain Ponchos came to $18.00 and it's worth it to stay even a little bit dry. Temperature will be 62 and sweatshirt weather. Belt out the Hits Billy and as for STING, It depends on which STING were getting I suppose?? STING goes on at 7PM and Billy Joel at 9PM.

Also, 4 miles from Busch Stadium will be a 2 Day Concert Festival titled "EVOLUTION FEST" and will feature Billy Idol, The Counting Crows and many others to tie up 2 days and it's being held in Forest Park

I LOVE BILLY JOEL...JEALOUS THERE...I DESPISE STING...NO JEALOUSY.

reply

How come you don't care for STING Kowalski??

reply

NOT REALLY SURE...BUT HE IS AKIN TO BONO FOR ME...I DISLIKE THE PERSON AND THE VOICE.

reply

Billy Joel is a pop hack. Sting is a legend.

reply

Everyone calls Billy Joel a hack; something I've heard/read many times in the last few years... Styx, too

reply

Is it strictly 80's Joel music?

reply

A wide variety of 70's, 80's and 90's I suppose. This is a timeless classic I want him to play from the 70's:

A little Billy Joel goes a long way with me, I never bought any of his records, but I did purchase the iTunes for "Only The Good Die Young."

I have been pissed off because I really like his new song "Turn The Lights Back On" and I've only heard it like 3 times on broadcast radio. I frickin' hear Journey "Don't Stop Believin' 3 times an hour! I don't buy digital music anymore, with my wife and kids and all their iPhones my songs migrate or disappear... first world problems.

My second favorite Billy Joel song is probably "Uptown Girl" but I'm probably biased because I watched the video with Christie Brinkley a thousand times...

Enjoy the show.

reply

He will definitely sing Uptown Girl for certain. In the meantime the Karaoke singer for Journey has posted a Poll online to determine if fans want him gone or not due to him having a particularly bad performance in Rio. At this point, without Steve Perry, it's Journey in name only

The last "expensive" concert I saw was Elton John at the Fabulous Forum in L.A. in 1992. I think tickets were $80 each and he was awful. My wife and I walked out after 30 minutes.

One website says $80 in 1992 would be $178 in 2024...

This summer I paid $60 a ticket to see Adam Ant with The English Beat and I thought that was too much... the missus had reconnected with an old high school alum girlfriend so I went... the girlfriend was pretty hot (for late 50's...) I saw The English Beat (WITH Ranking Roger) for free at Hollywood Park Race Track (now SoFi stadium) This was circa 2012/2013.

It has just been announced that the Billy Joel & Sting Concert for tonight at Busch Stadium has been postponed until Sunday night at the same time, 7PM due to high winds and heavy rain. Thank God!!! All day, I've been biting my lip at the thought of sitting in the rain watching this, even with rain ponchos on, but still.

reply

Have fun on Sunday. I saw several years ago Sting solo and with " the Police" in both cases πŸ‘

reply

Enjoy!! saw Billy and EltonJohn together manyyearsago oneof the best concertsi'vebeen to,if not THEbest

reply

Yeah Billy & Elton did play Busch Stadium many years back and I never saw it but heard it was fantastic

reply

theyncoveredeach other's songsand slso did a bunchtogether. Great night!

reply

Um, I don't want STING singing Uptown Girl. Please no and to be honest, I want to hear Billy Joel sing his material, not STING

reply

How was it?

reply

It's been rescheduled to Sunday night. STING at 7PM, Billy Joel at 9PM and it's just as well because music aside, it would've been miserable with the amount of rain we were getting, like 4 inches leftover from the Hurricane

reply

Good luck for tomorrow πŸ‘

reply

Tonight is the Billy Joel & Sting concert at Busch Stadium and the weather calls for partly cloudy, high of 78 and when the sun goes down, a low of 66 degrees and that is damn PERFECT!! They definitely made the right call rescheduling this and this also benefitted another outdoor music festival 4 miles from there in Forest Park known as "EVOLUTION FEST" with Billy Idol, The Counting Crowes, Todd Rundgren and a bunch of other groups

reply

Let us know how it goes (take 2).

reply

Yes!! Billy comes out promptly at 9PM, 12 hours from now. All I ask is that they don't over do it with singing one another's songs, Billy & Sting like someone mentioned. One, maybe 2 songs, but let's not overdo it for the amount of $$$$$ I paid for these seats
