It's officially autumn.
Let's celebrate, summer haters.
shareI like autumn, but I love summer - sad to see it go along with less daylight hours.
shareThe daylight hours are what I hate most about summer.
shareYou have revealed yourself to be a vampire. Doctor Van Helsing has been alerted and knows the approximate area of your lair, which is Canada, which as we all know is a very small hamlet just north of The Bronx.
You are DOOMED blood sucker!
Sunshine is like putting the brightness on your phone to 100%. Only a sicko is okay with that.
shareI actually do love autumn… the woods look very pretty, the fishing is terrific, hunting starts, outdoor fire pits are great fun…it IS a lovely season.
But I really dislike the winter SO MUCH😤
The fall colors of New England are fantastic. Best I've ever seen.
shareThe lower Hudson Valley is really pretty too this time of year…Yarrow, Partridge Pea, Bachelor’s Buttons, Purple Thistle, Cornflowers…the woods and fields look like a Bob Ross painting this time of year😊
Woodsmoke from fireplaces in the air, the wildlife is moving about, it’s glorious in the woods now.
Inspired an art movement :)

People yelling, cars screeching, disgusting car exhaust smell, trash on the floor, people wearing flip flops, heat rashes. I don't see the benefit of summer.
shareIt's the season of light and life.
Car exhaust and littering are a year-round things..
Idont' look at people's feet.
They sell a number ofcrea ms and ointments forwhatever you got going on in the rash department, dude 🤣
Littering is far less, the car exhaust is harder to smell in cold weather, flip flops will make a sound when they walk and it's annoying. Winter supremacy!
shareMost ofThe city smells like garbage i n the summer..Fair point there
shareI agree that "flip-flops" are hideous and disgusting. And they are not appropriate attire during the holiday season. One time I actually saw someone wearing the ugly things in late October. 🤮 🤮 🤮
Any reputable podiatrist will tell you they are bad for your feet.
Save the holiday season.
I always wonder how anyone can wear them without worrying about them breaking
shareThe weatherman keeps saying we're experiencing unusually warm yet ideal temps here, which is known as Indian Summer. This, imo, is "the most wonderful time of the year."
shareThe worst thing about Autumn is that it means winter is on the way.
shareYesterday it was in the upper 80s near 90 degrees and today it's rainy and the high is barely 70 degrees. Welcome Fall!!
shareI don't use Fahrenheit. I'm assuming that's hot.
shareI live in Kansas right around Kansas City and we get all four seasons here. Typically hot summer weather can be 85-100 degrees and if you add the humidity to it that's very hot. Yesterday really did feel like the last day of summer and it's now fall.
shareIn Canada, our summers are really hot and our winters are really cold. There's no inbetween during those times.
shareI hate summer, it was 98 yesterday.
shareSummer actually frustrates me. Bright sun in my eyes and excessive heat are not my thing.
shareagree, If I could afford it I would move to San Diego. its like 75 everyday.
or I would move to Bangor, Maine for the summer. and eat lobsta
I love Maine a LOT!
Gorgeous coastlines, vast fir forests and rocky hills, really great trout and cod fishing, three dollar lobsters for dinner!
Maine is awesome but I think the icy winters would kill me😄
yeah, the winters would suck for sure. I think spending 3 months up there during summer would be pretty cool. I have always wanted to go to Maine but I dont like flying and driving would be like a 3 day trip. maybe someday...:)
shareI've lived ~30 miles from Bangor all my life and it gets plenty hot in the summer here. Mid to high 90s with high humidity during heat waves is common, and it's been that way as far back as I can remember. You'd be better off in an actual coastal town such as Belfast or many others. Those towns are noticeably cooler in the summer than a Central Maine town like Bangor. When I was a kid we'd sometimes visit e.g., Bar Harbor, and it would be blazing hot when we left in the morning but in Bar Harbor it would feel too cold to go swimming.
Plus you get the freshest seafood in the coastal towns. For example, at this restaurant in Belfast that I've been to quite a few times, fishing boats dock and unload their catch directly into the back of the restaurant, so if you time it right you can be eating seafood that just came off the boat moments before you ordered it:

I know the sort of joints you are talking about. The lobster and fish boats pull up and the catch is on your plate in 30 minutes. Plus, much like the Mid-Atlantic and Southern American people the New Englanders tend to be rather friendly and chatty. I like that!
We LOVE New England.
New York is full of jerks and weirdos, I sometimes think about getting the hell out of here.
I hate fall and winter, and I'm not sure which I hate more. Winter is obviously colder and snowier, but it's also closer to spring.
It's already been fall for about 3 weeks in my book. I ignore the official dates and go with this instead:
Spring: March 1st to May 31st
Summer: June 1st to August 31st
Fall: September 1st to November 30th
Winter: December 1st to February 28th/29th
I know what you mean. Here in Toronto when September 1st hit, it got really cold and although the temperature dropped, it hasn't been warm at all. It's started to get slightly dark around 7:30 here too.
shareThat's actually the schedule that meteorologists use to record the weather. I like it also.
shareThere's no autumn in SoCal. September and October can be hotter than summer.
shareYou guys only have summer.
shareAnd I heard it never rains.
shareI know the song, not the artist.

shareName still doesn't ring a bell.
shareWell, we also have a mild rainy Winter and a short colorful Spring. But no real Fall.
shareThis means the holidays are soon approaching. October through December is the best time of the year. July and August are the worst.
Save the holiday season.
