When do you set up Halloween decorations?

πŸŽƒ

Is late September too early?

reply

Yep.

Wait till OCT 23.

The neighborhood will appreciate what you build closer to the day and not see it as normal.if you set it up earlier, it becomes common due to exposure.

Plus, it saves on the power bill for those with lights, air pumps, and sound.

reply

You have them sitting there for 8 days?

reply

I put them up 8 days prior.

Were building them now. This year is swamp creature horrors as our pond is deep enough.

Ghouls, witches, hunters, and zombies will be crawling out from the cat tails and reeds. Fog machine comes out on the 30th.

reply

What about Christmas? What's your time frame on that?

reply

It's the same. We take them down 2 days after.

reply

I usually do it a few days into October. Nothing extravagant. September isn't too early if it's the last few days.

reply

Never.

Signed, million man.

reply

Well, that is easier!
But we have a lot of little kids around here and Halloween is crazily popular so we all go a bit overboard around this little neighborhood.

reply

I guess a risk would be if set up too early it increases risk of theft. Kinda douchy to steal someone else Halloween decor. Also, electrical bills like someone else pointed out.

The first weekend in October is my usual planπŸ‘»

Once Labor Day is over it's almost like the day after Thanksgiving when everyone is ready to put up their Christmas tree. I might look at a few decorations to purchase in the next week or two but I think it would be acceptable to put up those fall Decorations on the first day of Fall (September 21st).

At home in real life: Probably a few days before the holiday.

In "Second Life" (online virtual world): My Halloween decorations are up all year, baby!

October 1st is usually the best time, but some people who have really busy lives might not do it until the last week of that month.

Oh, there's a fun trick I've seen people do with Halloween decorations, and it's very clever in my opinion. Along with the usual scary fun decorations, people will also mix generic autumn/harvest decorations with their Halloween-themed stuff, so that when the holiday is over, they can throw out the pumpkins, put the Halloween stuff away, but keep out the autumn leaves, the autumn wreaths, the scarecrows (if they're the innocuous kind), and the cornucopias, and then they are all ready for November and Thanksgiving :D
