He was great in Running Scared (2006). I don't know how the director got that performance out of him, but that's the only film in which I've ever seen him do that well. In his other films, he's pretty vapid.
He dated a 16 year old when he was 33. Considering that one creepy scene in "Running Scared", I'd say he acted well because he lived it.
