Ever stayed at a 5 star hotel
Where?
shareI walked through one once. Filled with fake shit. Wasn't impressed. Plastic plants and all that. Plenty of wear on the carpets. Pressboard furniture. Usual hotel shit. But it was very clean. I'm convinced more than ever it's just expensive to keep out the riff raff. It's not actually luxury conditions.
shareFAKE PLANTS...WORN CARPET...PRESSBOARD FURNITURE?...5 STAR HOTAL...NOT A FIFTH OF A STAR HOTEL.
shareWhen I worked for a federal agency in the 90s they would have regional conferences and one year they had one at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, FL.
shareYes, in Lisbon. It was during the financial crisis in Southern Europe, so pretty cheap. I think the Disneyland Hotel in Paris might also be a 5 star hotel.
shareChateau Lake Louise
shareVarious Ritz Carltons in the US.
The Arizona Biltmore
The Homestead Resort in Virginia
The 12 Apostles (in Cape Town, SA)
The Doral in Miami (long ago, before Trump)
Probably a few others along the way that I've forgotten.
Travel guides have some of these at 4 stars. I rate them all as 5 stars.
