I find this interesting, because review aggregators have had the opposite effect on me personally. There's such a mish-mash of opinions available, most of them of utterly no value to me whatsoever, many of them not even to be trusted because they've been paid for one way or another, that I focus more than ever on individual critics (professional or amateur).
Find a handful of people who, A) know enough about cinema to be taken seriously and B) have a sensibility that somewhat matches your own, and you'll have a lot more joy than caring about aggregated scores.
