Is speaking a different language cultural appropriation?

If not now, then when some identity politician decides to call it such?

reply

No it’s the highest form of cultural appreciation. Go to YouTube and watch any of of the expert language learners conversing with people in their native language. People are always impressed to see an outsider speak their language. Especially when it’s a lesser known language.

reply

Only if you’re while. That is how these things tend to go.

reply

No

reply

Why?

reply

It's just a language.

reply

no

reply

Wtf is cultural appropriation?

reply

A common saying by liberals everytime someone who is white likes Hip Hop a little too much.

reply

So... approved by whites? Hmm. Probably not.

reply

Being disrespectful and exploitive.

reply

No.

I legit saw on twitter once some idiot claiming it's cultural appropriation if the motivation behind learning the language is to sleep with women from other countries...

reply

What is the appropriate reason to learn another language?

reply

Talk to people? Communication? Enjoyment of the learning process??

Sleep with foreign women????

Those are all good reasons to me.

reply

Agreed. Is this website editing me? It keeps saying "uh-oh looks like you're doing this too much" when my answer falls in the "culturally inappropriation" category.

reply

"when my answer falls in the .."

no , its just when not enough time has elapsed since your last post .

reply

No - cultural appreciation.

reply

Good grief, hell no! I love learning languages, it breaks down barriers. If some dumb ass woke wacko thinks that, so be it!
