First dead body you saw

My grandfather when I was 29. He died of cancer and must have weighted 70lbs. He looked awful and I'll never get that image of him on the couch out of my head.

You went 29 years without having anyone you know die? Lucky you.

reply

One time one of my friends was under his porch looking for some pennies that he buried, and he overheard his older and his friend talking about a dead body they saw. They didn't want to report it, because they had stolen a car in the process and they didn't want to answer questions about how they go so far out.

So me and 3 other of my friends decided to find the body in the woods. We thought if we discovered the body that every was looking for, we would be heroes and be on the news. It was a crazy trip through the woods, me and friend almost got hit by train, we fell into a lake with leeches. Eventually we did find the dead body, but my friends older brother had told his friends, and they showed up at the same time. A fight almost broke out, and someone pulled a gun out to scare off the other group. Eventually we decided to just leave the body where is was, and make an anonymous phone call to the police.

No I was probably the skinniest in the group. One of my friends was chubby at the time, but he grew up and got buff. He mightve ended up being the best looking guy in the group.

6 years old. An old nun, whom I didn't know. The kind nuns thought it was a great idea to introduce their kiddies to death at the earliest possible age. The school had a chapel, she was laid out there. Or maybe they only told us we could go look if we wanted, and I was always the curious kid. I don't think I freaked out too much, but it certainly made an impression on me. She looked nothing whatever like an angel.

For a more serious answer, my grandmother ran a funeral home, and she lived on top of it. So I saw a lot from young age, but almost always after they prepared and laying in a casket. And yes it was creepy. There was a secondary bathroom in the funeral parlor, so someone was in the bathroom, and I really had to go, I would have to go downstairs, and run by the body, and I wouldn't always know if one was there. The area was big and spacious and it would echo when I ran.

On this very night, ten years ago on this very stretch of road in a dense fog just like this, I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building, and when they finally pulled the drivers body from the twisted burning wreck it looked like…….

I was mid 20's and saw photos of my grandfather who had passed away. I didn't see a dead body with my own eyes till my late 30's when my grandmother died.

Other than at funeral services:

First and only dead body was at the scene following a car/motorcycle collision. I came upon a small traffic jam and the two lanes of traffic were now being squeezed into one. Inching forward to the merge, I saw a big fancy Harley Davidson bike on its side, and near it, barely a yard or two from me, was a man laying face up on the ground, lifeless, and blood coming from his mouth.

A day later, it turns out that the motorcyclist was hit by a another motorist, and that the other motorist just drove off, with a partial description of the vehicle and a request for any info witnesses may be able to provide.
