Ever broken a bone
Fractured 4 toes when a 20lb weight disc fell on my foot.
shareOOFAH!!! That sounds awful, hope you are OK now.
I got a busted nose roughhousing with pals as a kid. We were playing Jedi with broomsticks, it didn’t end well.
Got really drunk at the old Yankee Stadium, slipped in a puddle of beer and lost the use of my thumb for a few months. I still feel that one twenty years later.
Busted the right ankle hopping a fence to help the old lady that lived next door with her garden. That still aches, I can’t dance no more😆
This was 14 years ago. I still get aches in my big toe in cold weather.
shareStrange how some injuries linger and haunt you. My thumb still ‘clicks’ and the ankle is not quite right all these years later.
I self treated, plenty of booze and ice, a bit of advil. I didn’t have medical insurance at the time so I figured I’d walk it off. It sort of worked.
Messing around as a 13 yr old playing human pyramids. I was one of those at the bottom (of five tiers). Someone near the top wobbled a little too much and the whole lot came down - landing on my outstretched arm. Broke it at the wrist, forearm, and shoulder. I was in a cast for eight weeks.
shareJeez!
This post made me wince!!
That sounds terrible.
Weird thing was it didn't really hurt at the time. It was during lunchbreak at school. I finished the school day and went home. It was only when my hand swelled up massively in the evening that my parents took me to the hospital for an X-ray. The doctor told me I should be proud of myself - breaking all those in one go was quite an achievement! 😂

It’s SOCCER!
Dang it Andy, we’ve had this discussion before.
*let the great American vs. rest of the entire planet arguing continue😆

Haha!
Andy, you’ve convinced me😀

I love NFL Football but that Rugby over there is possibly rougher😳

Scottish and Aussies.
Yeah, I’d prefer not to tangle with those guys!

Hell no from me too!
I had a lightweight but fast and athletic girl cousin that did a few seasons of Rugby in the North Bronx.
She wound up getting her teeth busted out!
Pretty girl, she looked a mess after that match. Cost her a small fortune as well.

Slipped on some rocks and broke my leg in three places, while hiking alone in the desert. Fortunately, I was within sight of the parking lot and had cell reception, so calling an ambulance was easy-peasy, and I've invested in some good walking sticks so it won't happen again.
However, a friend is planning an 800 mile solo desert hike, a hike he's had to quit once because of a comparatively minor injury. He's close to my age, over sixty, and I'm afraid that he's going to get injured far from help, and nobody will ever see him again. You do NOT fuck around with the American desert!
I've never broken a bone in my body
shareAs a kid, I was running and the tip of my ring finger hit against my hoodie zipper. Months later I told my doctor about it. He said, "It may have been broken but nothing to be done about it now."
