i knew a guy who went missing back in the 80s and was never heard from again.
shareThat's not really a valid indication that he was murdered. Sometimes people like to go missing of their own accord, going so far as to fake their own deaths.
sharei don't think he was that sophisticated to fake his own death. he was hanging around with the wrong crowd and would disappear for weeks and he just didn't come back. the cops did all the searches and there was no evidence he was alive.

shareA friend of a friend that I met several times at our local watering hole was shot to death after leaving a strip club in the mid-1990s. He had somehow angered a couple of Lebanese gangsters in the club, and they decided he should die for it.
shareNo one. I grew up in the safe suburbs. Of course, murder sometimes happens in quiet suburbs, but I think it's not as common as other sorts of places.
shareLike ghosts? I'm not personally acquainted with any ghosts, but I know of a few people that were murdered. Mostly family friends, and mainly over drug-related issues, though one instance was related to homophobia.
