shareAs far as I knew growing up, and even as an adult, college basketball was never a big thing in NYC except, I guess, for people who like to bet on sports. (Can't speak for the rest of the State). I think the only decent NYC college basketball team is St. John's out in Queens.

St. John's. That's about all she wrote. Fordham (Atlantic 10) hasn't been to a Final Four in 30 years, and even then they lost in the first round. I think the reason college sports isn't a gigantic thing in NYC is because of the plethora of professional teams. But hey, Columbia was the 1909–10 National Champions :)
