I've recently had some horrible experiences with Annie's macaroni and cheese varieties. I always see them in the clearance isle in the stores that I go to. So I started getting them. And they're organic, not that I really care about that. So the first one I tried a couple months ago was the Alfredo flavor macaroni and cheese. And the powder in the packet was a solid mass. I had to squeeze it with my hands in order to break it up. And it broke up into big chunks which I figured would dissolve once you mix it all together. But nope. Yesterday I had their regular flavor and again the powder in the packet was a solid mass in both boxes that I made yesterday. Again I squeeze the packets with my hands to break the solid mass of cheese powder up and it would only break up into big chunks and yet again the chunks didn't dissolve. I couldn't believe it. And that is an expensive brand because it's organic and all that. But yet they're always in the clearance aisle. I understand now why. I'm assuming that because they're organic it doesn't have the chemical in the cheese that would keep it free-flowing whatever that is silicon dioxide or something like that. Next time I will gently pound it with the mallet before opening the packet hopefully that will help.
