Your movie double features

I don't know if anyone else has movies that they like to watch as a double feature or not, but I always seem to watch The Towering Inferno (1974), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972) back to back. I got to wondering if there were any others that I do that with and I will tend to watch Empire Records (1995) and Clueless (1995) back to back as well.

Edit to add, that I'm not really counting sequels, or movies that share a cinematic universe. Like I often will do the entire LOTR trilogy in a day or a weekend.

Not for any specific reasons but I have watched Star Trek 2 and Top Secret back-to-back on many occasions. Other than that I am a huge fan of both, of course. I wonder if something coincided with the first time I did this that triggers my brain.

You have reasons for your 2xfeatures?

reply

I think with the disaster movies it's because they are both Irwin Allen productions and I after I saw the Towering Inferno, I was told that I had to watch Poseidon. So, I bought them both on VHS and started watching them together. I have them both on DVD now. I think Clueless and Empire is just because I loved both of them when they came out and since they were the same year they are just connected in my brain.

Mannequin, and Princess Bride I could do back to back. I would probably do Little Monsters with The Wizard, and The Boy Who Could Fly. 😃

OH YES..THANK YOU...

MANNEQUIN,THE PRINCESS BRIDE,LITTLE MONSTERS AND THE WIZARD....I KNEW I FORGOT A HAPPY PLACE MOVIE.

Even though it's just one big product placement for the Powerglove, I still really enjoy it.

I AM 100% IN LOVE WITH FRED SAVAGE...JENNY LEWIS IS PRETTY GOOD TOO.🙂

ALSO...I HAVE BEEN INSIDE THOSE DINOSAURS SO THE END OF THE WIZARD IS EXTRA NOSTALGIC.

Late 80s Christian Slater. Oh yeah.

The Blues Brothers and Animal House are always watched together. Other double bills would be reliable but contrasting favourites.

The Last picture show & american graffiti

I feel like King Kong (76) and Orca (77) would make a fun, cheesy creature double feature with friends and plenty of beers.

reply

Yes! I can see me doing that.

I once did a 90s disaster movie triple feature with "Independence Day", "Dante's Peak" and "Twister".
