That list has the Canadian group Triumph as number 6. I didn't think anyone heard of them outside of Canada.

I have seen them in concert - I think they were the support act for Thin Lizzy.

Not to nitpick, but my understanding is that a band plays actual instruments. If they don't play instruments they are just a group. So for example in spite of them being called "boy/girl bands" Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls are actually groups. Whereas The Beatles, because they play instruments, are a band.

I'm actually from the UP of Michigan so we are fairly close to Canada.

Triumph was huge among my circle of friends back in the early to mid 80s.

We wore out Allied Forces, Never Surrender and Thunder Seven!

Speaking of 3 man bands, how about Chilliwack? I have a best of compilation by them. They had some amazing tunes.

I'm surprised that Triumph and Chilliwack weren't big here in the states.
