So for those who don't know, a fish out of water story is one where someone is put in a totally foreign environment, this creates conflict, often comical conflict.
So rich person put in poor environment (or vice versa).
Teacher thrown into inner city school.
Vegas singer put in a convent (obviously sister act).

Sullivan's Travels, Mr Deeds Goes to Town, My Man Godfrey, It Happened One Night, My Fair Lady, Fifth Avenue Girl, Lady for a Day, Captains Courageous just to name a few.
