I'm not a fan of 80s or 90s movies

I just find movies made in that era hard to get into.

2000s movies and onwards are just more modern looking and have decent pacing.

I tried ET once and couldn't understand the appeal.

Back to the future and Jurassic Park are slow, weird pacing, over long scenes.

I feel like people get pacing these days and it just works. It's a movie.

What else?

I think it depends on the film. I found the Transformers movies and all of the Marvel films to be snorefests, they are overly long and seem devoid of plot and despite having lots of action they are boring anyway. That said, some 80's and 90's films can also be slow and overly long.

Try a few from earlier decades. They all(decades) have their own charm.

Cheers.

This is so nuts. I mean, listen...listen to what you're saying. It's paranoid delusion

They're hard to get into is all.

Movies from the '80s and '90s account for the vast majority of movies that I care about (especially the '80s). Most movies from the 21st century suck hard ("shaky cam," cutting to a new scene every 0.5 seconds, bad color timing, and as of the past decade or so, mostly shot on video rather than film), plus they're full of left-wing horseshit, which gets worse every year.

With that said, I don't understand the appeal of E.T. either. I remember the ridiculous level of hype surrounding it when it was new (I was in second-grade) but I never saw it until '89 because Spielberg infamously refused to release it on home video for many years. It was a huge disappointment. On the other hand, Back to the Future was, and still is, an awesome movie.

I used to think like that except my films were from before the 1970s. I've since changed my mind. There are a ton of great films from every decade I've tried so far, except the 2010s, which is my least favorite.
